And I kinda miss that, and it has me thinking of picking up one or two TV Jones Broadtrons for it.īut of course I'm wondering if they will work as well in the center-block as they do in the solid-body, and I'm also wondering if Gretsch chose the Broadtrons for this model specifically because they are voiced better for this guitar than the Filtertrons. While I'm not in any way disappointed in the guitar (playability, feel, or tone), the Broadtron pickups don't quite have the sparkle of the Filtertrons. It plays like a $2000 guitar, not a $500 one. Gretsch High Sensitive Filter’Tron 8/10 PRICE 61.99 each DESCRIPTION Humbucking pickups, made in Asia FEATURES Alnico V magnets, potted DC RESISTANCE 4.58k (bridge), 3. I haven't had to adjust anything on it, the action is perfect, the intonation is perfect, the neck is perfect. I then picked up a G2655T because damn if this isn't the sexiest-looking guitar I've ever seen (and certainly ever owned!). IMO it's the perfect balance between single coils and Gibson-style humbuckers - some good "girth" to the tone, but without sacrificing a crisp chimey top end and note definition across all playing styles. My first Gretsch was a G5232T, with blacktop Filtertrons, and I fell absolutely in love with the tone of the guitar. ![]()
